Members collectively own and control the cooperative community in which they reside. Members buy a share in the cooperative corporation, which owns the land, building, and any common areas. Members receive the exclusive right to occupy a specific residence. There is a member-elected board of directors and professional management to direct and assist in operations ongoing.

Artessa Development, an affiliate of Lifestyle Communities of Minnesota, is the developer of Artessa cooperative communities. This group brings over 35 years of experience creating cooperative communities under various cooperative brands throughout Minnesota and surrounding states. It is through this experience and relationships with thousands of cooperative members where we perfect the art of living.

Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll meet with an Artessa representative to complete a reservation agreement. This allows you priority to select the residence of your choice without a big financial and emotional commitment. The reservation fee is $1,000 and is fully refundable if you decide not to move forward, or it will be applied to your future purchase. 

We know that storage is an important feature when looking to make a move. At Artessa we strive to include large spacious closets and cabinets within each residence as well as provide separate individual storage areas within the community for those items you treasure but might not use on a daily basis.

Yes. No smoking is allowed in individual residences, common areas or on the grounds of the cooperative.
