Construction for Artessa Mound Harbor is officially underway. As several city leaders joined Artessa Development executives, stakeholders, partners and new members for a ceremonial soil melding on June 28, KSTP-TV jumped to highlight the long-term impact this 62+ cooperative lifestyle community will have on the Lake Minnetonka community.
“It is with great pride and excitement that we all come together to celebrate this culmination of hard work, dedication and a shared vision for downtown Mound,” said Mound Mayor Jason Holt in KSTP-TV’s news segment.
Slated to open summer 2024 in the Harbor District, this 52-home co-op will not only transform the retirement lifestyle of its members, but also the Mound community’s revitalization efforts. As more older adults move in, younger families can claim newly vacant, single-family homes — spurring sustainable growth to support the city’s school districts, local businesses and greater economy.
With more than 60% of members relocating from other areas, this development will also support Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District initiatives to invest in and improve public infrastructure. Namely, the central city park just steps from Artessa Mound Harbor may soon see enhancements to its farmers market, outdoor lighting and more, with the goal to provide year-round entertainment to all Mound residents.
